Summary/Abstract: The author studies volitional verb variation in a number of morphological forms. The article attempts to establish if verb variations are influenced by grammatical categories and to determine the correlation of same derivatives with their verb roots. The author has compared the variation of personal verbs with the variation of adverbial participles. Variation models formed by finite verbs have been contrasted with those formed by infinitive verbs - forms Such as rozkazano, rozkazuje się, trzeba rozkazać etc. The relation between the verb root and the derivative of a different category has been studied in nouns formed from verbs e.g. pozwolenie and nakaz. The author concludes by defining which morphological categories affect the variation of volitional verbs, which categories modify only the variation model or limit the number of variants, and, finally, which categories break the root - derivative relation.
