Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to bring to the attention of the specialists a number of twelve medieval coins issued by Wallachian and Moldavian princes. The coins are kept in the numismatics collection of the History Museum „Paul Păltănea” from Galați. The silver coins are extremely important for the numismatic researches and for the study of monetary circulation. Two of the coins were found during the archeological researches undertaken during the years 1962-1963, the other ten coins being preserved from the old collection of the museum. Most probably the group of ten coins were found in the area of Galați and Tulcea counties, being illustrative for the monetary circulation from the end of 14th century and the 15th century.
