Summary/Abstract: This article comments on issues related to the ways the deprofessionalization phenomenon is being treated. It also presents prevailing ideas with regard to deprofessionalization as a phenomenon, as well as the causes for the effect of deprofessionalization. The focus here is on the deprofessionalization trends in journalism which is undergoing cardinal change and turmoil; furthermore, the article reviews the ruling ideas in the theory of journalism about the deviations from the endorsed professional project. Special attention has been paid on the relationship between deprofessionalization and the hybrid and alternative journalistic forms.
