Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to comment the fragmentation аnd disintegration potential of media institutions. Furthermore, it suggests that media cannot generate polarization at present, but the crisis in the journalistic profession could create opportunities to fuel separation in society in the long run. The editorial policy of media organizations is entirely dependent upon their business interests; this in turn lead to purposeful and permanent disregard of the basic functions that society has invested into professionals - the socializing, economic, cognitive; negligence to job standards which inevitably creates conditions for separation in society, and for intensifying the centrifugal forces available in society during the postmodern era.
