Summary/Abstract: In an era of discussions about convergance, crowdsourcing, produsage, community building around the media brand, when media permanently suffer from low viewer ratings, Bulgarian media and journalists demonstrate felonious undermining and ignoring of their audience rather than a strive to make viewers feel included. Media institutions constantly assure that what products they offer is regulated by their audience preferences and that they comply with its taste and interests. A deeper analysis, nevertheless, points to other conclusions. Commercial media offer a well-developed form of censorship - bringing up a complying audience that should act as a censor with regard to presented content and preferred media. That model of censorship is well identified in the tabloidization of content, the management of the linguistic code, the management of news, the management of audience access to producer stance.
