Keywords: Old Anatolian Turkish; complex sentences; subordinating conjunctions
Summary/Abstract: Initially, in the syntax of the Old Turkish as well as in any of the other Turkic languages from the period, there were only simple sentences lined one after another in a string, without any conjunction. This article considers the use of subordinating conjunctions in the Old Anatolian Turkish as a result of the influence of some foreign languages with respect to general syntactic features of the Turkic languages The most prominent example for such use are the complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions.
