Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is analysis of changes in competitiveness of labour resources of the Visegrad Group countries in relations to 15 countries of so-called „old” UE (before enlargement in 2004). The hypothesis of the article is that the competitiveness of labour resources of the Visegrad Group countries decreased after joining the European Union. The proportion productivity (GDP per 1000 employed) to labour costs (annual gross earnings) was accepted as a gauge of the competitiveness. To verify the hypothesis, data published by Eurostat were used. They were analysed mainly from the perspective of percentage changes in the compared values. The obtained results indicate that the hypothesis is true in case of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, while in the case of Slovakia, the competitiveness of labour resources increased compared to the EU-15.
