ASPECTS REGARDING THE EVOLUTION AND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE INSTITUTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Summary/Abstract: Understanding the full significance of the human rights institution requires knowledge of the humanist ideas that have since the earliest postulated human freedom and equality. Perceiving the precise meaning of the legal human rights institution therefore necessarily implies an understanding of the philosophical significance of these rights, indispensable for the elucidation of the moral-political content of any normative regulation in this field. A research - even briefly - of the evolution and meaning of the currents of political thought shows that the desire for freedom was a constant feature of the whole historical process, the preoccupation for defining the position of man in society, manifesting himself, with his manifestation as a thinking being.
