On dramaturgy of cycling direct sports broadcasting

Summary/Abstract: Cycling Sport is reflected increasingly in recent years by Slovak media environment. In thelast five years RTVS program includes coverage of the Le Tour de France and worldchampionships in cycling. Direct sport broadcasting of cycling is specific from dramaturgicalperspective compared to other direct broadcasting, for example to collective games likefootball. In the structure of cycling live broadcasting one can see a number of elements thatenhance the authenticity and interactivity of live coverage. Increasing of authenticity bybroadcasting original or transposed reports reflects the tendency of media audiences to be inconstant motion, in constant contact with immediate action. In turn, strengthening ofinteractivity in the structure of direct television broadcasting implies a wide margin of maneuver for possible future increasing complexity of direct sports-broadcasting block withthe completion by television spectators.
