Building a story in sports reporting (about historical victory of Slovakia national football team against Spain)

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes some of the overriding trends in designing reports on the surprising success and identifies the narrative formula by which the sports news elaborates the sensational success motif. It seems, the strengthener in the construction of narrative structure of information on the surprising success in contemporary sports reporting is the act of creating hero who acts as a superhuman element of a strong team. The media constantly highlight the heroes of each story not only for the sake of clarity, but also due to the clear contours of the emerging balance, that helps to build other future stories. The hero of any media event is in fact part of the newly established equilibrium, it becomes part of the mythology associated with its continuation.
