Summary/Abstract: The formation of female characters is a process in the Montenegrin narrative discourse that has lasted since the end of the nineteenth century. The traditional concept of shaping characters, promoted by the epic structure of the themes, has also caused the creation of female characters. Therefore, the Montenegrin female characters have long been modeled as mothers, sisters, warriors, mannish women. However, changes in the prose have been activatedsince the post-war modernization both on the plan of themes and motifs as well as on the plan of shaping psychology of the hero. Primacy is placed on the psychological and ideological point of view, so that the female characters also experience progression in their evolution and the rich inner plan permeated with the motif of Eros and sensuality becomes applicable to the female characterology as well.
