Summary/Abstract: Drawing on a resource-based perspective as well as strategic entrepreneurship theory, this empirical study examines how the performance effect of corporate entrepreneurship is mediated by firm strategy and task contingency regarding key environmental variables. It was discovered that prospector strategy mediates the relationship between corporate entrepreneurship and firm performance. However, the moderating effect of the task environment was not confirmed. This study provides a more fine-grained analysis on the performance implications of corporate entrepreneurship capability.
