Summary/Abstract: The aim of the deliberations was to examine the relationships between knowledge donating and knowledge collecting in the presence of a mediating variable (absorptive capacity) and with moderators taken into account (open-mindedness and commitment to learning). In order to verify the hypotheses the mediative effect testing, moderated mediation and moderative effect, using the regression analysis. A very strong positive relationship between knowledge donating and knowledge collecting was found at the beginning. The verification of the next hypothesis showed that absorptive capacity is not a mediator of a relationship between knowledge donating and knowledge collecting. However, the next analyses show that such a relationship occurs after the introduction of a mediator into a model, that is, only when open-mindedness is either on a medium or high level. Thus, absorptive capacity becomes a mediator only when a moderator is taken into account as open-mindedness and depending on its level. Moreover, commitment to learning proves to be a statistically important moderator of the relationship between a dependent variable and an independent variable.
