Analysis of Traffic Incidents at Selected Intersections in Łódź Involving Public Transport Vehicles in 2012–2016

Summary/Abstract: Public transport is a very important element ensuring good functioning of the city. Everywhere in the world a lot of actions are taken to reduce the use of individual transport, which is responsible for a number of negative phenomena, e.g. increasing environmental pollution, congestion or increasing the risk of road traffic. For this reason, traffic generated by collective communication must ensure security for both passengers and other road users. The purpose of this article is to check at which intersections in Lodz accidents and collisions occur the most often what causes them. The empirical research used in this work was financed from the Student Research Grants awarded by the Rector of the University of Lodz.
