Summary/Abstract: Internationalization presents new and exciting opportunities for cooperation within the university enterprise and can be a powerful tool for the enhancement of quality and the insertion of innovation across many dimensions. At the same time, significant risks and challenges must be faced in a fast-paced and costly competitive global higher education environment. The present paper analyses some aspects related to the professional contexts that require specific communicative strategies, which should be known and applied in exchanges with adequate verbal behaviours. Thus, to prepare the students from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca for the new international engineering and technological work-markets we have reviewed our instructional approach in terms of teaching and learning strategies that should determine a more effective way for our students to communicate with success in English or other foreign language.
