Summary/Abstract: The best test of technical skills and special physical fitness for a martial arts fighter will be a reaction to an effort that occurs in the sports fight during the competitions. The aim of the article is to assess the usefulness of the elaborated and previously verified test of special physical fitness of kick-boxing players in assessing the skills of karate and ju-jitsu players. The study was conducted in a group of 60 people training three fight styles: kickboxing – karate club and ju-jitsu. The physical fitness of the subjects was measured by using the kickboxer’s special fitness test. Analysis of the results allows to conclude that: the proposed special fitness test can be a tool to control the achievements of players in kickboxing, as well as in karate and ju-jitsu. It is at the same time a reliable, accurate and simple research tool and it takes place at the level of a specific effort reflecting the structure of the fight and its energy base.
