The biconsonantic group in initial position in Arabic

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the strategies adopted by standard literary Arabic and by spoken idioms in order to cope with the appperance of consonant groups in word initial position. In the second part of this article, the authors are revising the types of strategies that Modern Standard Arabic uses to avoid the apperarance of a biconsonantic groups and even a group of three consonants in word final position and the frequency of this phenomena.
