Summary/Abstract: The situation of Christians in the Middle East has been worrying for many years, especially in the context of the wars and political tensions in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Egypt. The numerous analyses, mostly political, are all determined by the political standpoint of the analysts, but at the same time also by the cause of manifold shortcomings. In the view of these circumstances, the author starts this study with some more personal remarks as an answer at the question: How did I get involved with Oriental Christians? On the one hand, the joint action of our churches with other sister churches in the faith can deepen and renew our spirituality. On the other hand, our philanthropic, educational, cultural and religious actions strengthen and support their authority, what can be a sign of Christian faith in the East. Today, the issue of martyrs has become central to many churches. There is a meaning to die for faith, which is a final form of resistance when the resistance is externally destroyed. Attempts to set signs of religious or denominational communion beyond the limits of religion or denomination against terrorism are spiritual elements that can help to rebuild in the sense of coexistence.
