Lyric Poetry in Lower Grades of Elementary School

Summary/Abstract: Lyric poetry is the oldest literary creation when considering the time of its origin. She represents an artwork in lyrics and prose in which the poet expresses his or her personal feelings. It is because of these qualities of lyric as an artwork that the pupils are introduced with it at the beginning of their education. The artistic power of lyric ensures thought and emotional reactions whose importance in a successful communication with literary and artistic text is unquestionable. They create the ground for interpretation, research of artistic uniqueness and value of literary work. An overview of known models of lyric poems analysis are given in the paper, along with programme requirements and literary theoretical terms arranged by grades, in order to offer advice to future students and a reminder to teachers in their work.
