Summary/Abstract: Enclosure to the studies of the architectural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina This enclosure analyses the architectural characteristics of traditional shapes of stone houses of older origin, that exist on the territory of Livno Field. The aim of this analysis is to emphasize how a change of building material in one environment effects the shape of a house, its space structure and its disposition, as well as other architectural characteristics. It has been determined that stone houses, which replaced log-cabins in Livno Field, by their architectural characteristics are similar to the stone houses of the Adriatic hinterland and houses from cliffy areas. Expansion of this style in Livno Field was influenced by the arrival of craftsman-builders who were coming from villages south and south east of mount Dinara during the 20th century, as well as by numerous settlers who, after their arrival to this arrea, maintained contact with their old homeland.
