Summary/Abstract: The resistance of Shkodra in the struggle against the Slavic invaders (October 1912 – April 1913) is one of significant events of Albanian history of the first part of XX century. Songs inspired from these events are widely spread out in Albanian regions of the North, but their echo is felt (heard) on the South of Albania. They have a unique structure, because they belong to a characteristic group of songs without extended epic narration. As such, they present a synthesis of evaluation of historical circumstances with notable emotional sensuality, where the heroic with the tragic one are interweaved. The real heroes of these songs with their actions are not presented as distinguished individualities, but they personify collectivism of the factor nation. The song has made the object of poetics even the historical figures such as: King Nikolla, Esat Pasha, Hasan Riza Pasha, presenting them as real figures with critical evaluation reaching the boundaries of anathema against bloodthirsty criminals and the fatherland traitors. Songs about the resistance of Shkodra in the years 1912 – 1913 are authentic creations and they enrich our folk poetry with new artistic values, which are realized through a rich language and new poetical figuration. As special poetical structure they are created in an authentic way or they are renewed together with traditional structures of folk poetry.
