POPULAR LITERATURE IN KOSOVË

Summary/Abstract: This view is framed to be included within a directory which is planned to be edited by The Kosovo Academy of Science and Arts with the purpose of informing in a generally encyclopedic way the foreign public about entire Kosovo national, social and cultural characteristics. Considering it might be of interest for the readers of our scientific journal, I hold it forth in this shape, so it is available also to our scholars of popular literature, hoping that someone might use it for deeper studies on popular composition collected and published in Kosovo. Even though Albanian popular literature is an integral part of of popular compositions of Albanian nation, we have focused here mainly in those characteristic compositions collected and published in Kosovo regions. Here are treated in general lines almost all genres of popular literature, having in mind literary values of entire folkloric compositions, inside the already fixed texts in publications, representing in genuine sense popular literature. Within the scrutiny are given in defining way the characteristics of popular poetry and process genres, as well as the history of their edition and studying. Beside the evaluation of artistic peculiarities of popular literature, there are briefly treated also different activities, both in collecting material and its presentation in manifestations of general folkloric character.
