Summary/Abstract: Working with pictures is an effective technique that all teachers should use when teaching and thustake advantage of its possibilities. The pictures not only resemble reality and help our memory but they motivate and engage students during lessons including those of language acquisition. The pictures also help in the process of thought development, understanding of the text itself, of vocabulary enhancement, of communication, in the usage of control exercises. In other words, these can be used in different classroom situations. Learning a language helps to create a positive attitude toward other cultures and languages and sets the foundation for learning other foreign languages. Success in acquiring a language depends on a number of factors. Among all the skills and abilities of the teacher competence in the targeted language is a must as it is the main source of information and impetus for learning that language. This competence also encompasses aspects of multiculturalism and helps to build awareness of the target language and the creation of strategies for the learning of foreign languages. The teaching methods and procedures capture the natural character of the acquisition process of new knowledge and experience, while at the same time, they provide opportunities to gain an appreciation for the culture of another nation through the love of learning its language.
