Summary/Abstract: In the contribution I deal with the topic of Anglicisms in German language, whereas I explore their status in German language textbooks for secondary school students. First I define the term, then I classify Anglicisms according to the degree of naturalization in the lexis of German language and concentrate on the most common parts of speech of Anglicisms together with examples. Thereafter I explore the distribution of Anglicisms according the parts of speech in German language textbooks, the typology of loan words from English and their frequency in various topics and parts of textbooks of German as a foreign language.
