Shadow banking on financial services market

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents selected issues of functioning of shadow banking in terms of access to bank loans as well as regulatory arbitrage which is taken by banks. The article characterizes the shadow banking market regarding its Polish specificity. Attention is paid to the problem of risk generated by the functioning of institutions that exist at the margins of regulation and supervision, and attempts to regulate the parallel banking sector.
