Summary/Abstract: Romanian is the native language for the Romanians both inside and outside Romania, but also the official language of the Romanian state. Certainly, the new economic and social context, such as Romania's accession to the European Union, has awakened a whole new interest shown by some foreign citizens coming from other states, speakers of other languages, to learn our language for a better communication with the Romanian partners they were always in touch with. Yet, for many years, young people come to Romania, animated by the desire to study one of the many specializations of Romanian universities, such as medicine, engineering or music. Our article aims to present the main issues raised by the teaching and learning of the Romanian language as a foreign language, especially in the contest where it is taught to the students coming from Albania. Thus, we can easily discover that the Latin background of the two languages, Romanian and Albanian, sister languages originally, is identical in many elements, and we can say that their Latinization process was a common one, simultaneously pursuing the same mechanism.
