Summary/Abstract: The Korean War was a bloody war that devastated the Korean peninsula and set the two Korean nations apart. The United Nations, an international organization for peace and security, was an integral part in creating the ceasefire and ensuring stability in this brutal feud. This paper will explain the role of the United Nations in the Korean War through their contribution to the war, the use of collective security, and changes to the United Nations as a result of the Korean War.
