Summary/Abstract: The development of inclusive schools – an approach stemming from Romania's accession to the European Union – led to analysing the place and role of special schools in binary terms: dissolution or preservation. Contrary to the idea of globalization, which promotes inclusive education, research results support teachers' position regarding the preservation of special schools, thus illustrating Romania’s perspective or perhaps a tendency towards de-globalization.
