Summary/Abstract: Adoption is a means of resolving the family, affective, social issues of the child abandoned by their biological parents and a positive way to start or enlarge a family. At the same time, it can be a source of problems, frustrations and worries for the adoptive family as compared to the biological family, all of which must be acknowledged as professional support is often required. In the present article, starting from the literature, we focus on some legal remedies to the adoption process in Romania, on the evolution of the adoption service and on some concerns of the adoptive families / persons, which are worth being underlined and analysed. These concerns should be perceived as opportunities that can lead to personal growth for the parents.
