HOLIDAY SYSTEM IN THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA

Summary/Abstract: To describe the specifics of the holiday system in the Republic of Bulgaria: the most important holidays in the traditional holiday system of the Bulgarians, and also their position in the system of the official holidays of the country. To analyze the holidays in terms of nomination, ritualistic nature and content. To analyze the structural features of the names of the holidays as linguistic phenomena: their belonging to the parts of speech, the specifics of the expression signified by the grammatical categories, and creating a database for further research into the meanings of the names of the holidays as cultural realia loaded with layers of information. To draw conclusions based on the gathered information from a corpus comprised of source research and empirical data obtained through interviews.
