Summary/Abstract: Our research was entailed by a behavioural pattern that we observed among our students. At the beginning of each academic year they would set ambitious objectives for the foreign language seminar that, in time, they generally discarded. Despite the initial enthusiasm and determination, they generally ended up forgetting they had set some objectives and promised to do certain activities in order to reach those objectives. Namely, although their intentions were good, they were not properly implemented. They were not able to turn their intentions into actions. Therefore, we wanted to test if the final outcome is improved when students are guided through the process and receive specific instruments. Based on our previous research we were inclined to believe that small beginnings could lead to big results if the goals and the actions are properly designed, namely if people chose a SMART goal to which they associate a tiny or mini habit.
