Summary/Abstract: The labor force had two structural components, resulting from social differences increasingly emphasized: the people and the slaves, as friendly labor force. The legal system that characterizes this period is that of customs, founded on the idea of reciprocity – “The person who is condemned by the society is liable to quit the community or to commit suicide”. The paper presents the history of labor relations from ancient times till the 16th century.
