Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the creative process of Šiauliai University Fine Art speciality students. Problems of innovations and student-oriented studies in the context of the learning paradigm at institutions of higher education are still in their early investigation phase. That is why the aim of this article is to discuss both on the theoretical and empirical level the process (and its parameters) of individual creation of students in the context of student-oriented academic studies in Fine Art. The research results revealed that if parameters of individual creative process are met in academic studies of Fine Art, thus, the ground for student-oriented academic studies in Fine Art is to be constructed. Personal creative process of Fine Art students should echo the perception of society, attitudes, culture, social relations, reality, interdisciplinarity, analysis and synthesis. The empirical research of students’ individual creative process indicates close relation between the creative process and student-oriented academic studies which ensures easier adjustment to tendencies of shifts or changes in contemporary artistic creation.
