Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the poetics of Bašić’s novel In Anotherć's Nest. The novel’s poetic elements include the following segments: thematic-range motives, psychological concretization of the protagonists, and genre syncretism. A phenomenological interpretation of the work includes a contrast between the native, rustic chronotope, on one, and the chronotope imposed by the main character who had lived in the Turkish Empire. The regional motive nucleus is, at the same time, the main motive in Bašić’s novel.
