Summary/Abstract: The study concerns the factors of employees’ involvement in work and organization. These issues have gained a lot of significance due to huge labor shortages in the labor market and a drop in their involvement. The main objective of the paper was to identify employees’ commitment to their work and their employer organisation as well as factors which affect this commitment significantly. A quantitative research was held based on questionnaire filled in by 342 employees of Lower Silesian enterprises. The results revealed quite a high level of employee commitment. Factors which correlate strongly with employees’ commitment to their work and employer organisation (in sequence of decreasing strength of the correlation) include: conviction that managers care about employees, appreciation of good performance at work, known expectations of the employer (responsibilities and requirements), possibility for employees to express their opinions and participate in decision making, the organisation’s mission and objective making employees feel that their workis relevant, encouraging development, possibility for employees to do what they are best at, collaborators committed to work quality, friendly relations among employees, access to materials and equipment, training and development, consultations with the supervisor concerning achievements and progress. The most neglected commitment factors at the studied enterprises included good relations among employees, such as friendly atmosphere, communication and trust, appreciation of good performance, encouraging development and participation at training.
