Summary/Abstract: Knowledge is an essential component of intellectual capital (next to the structure, internal processes and organizational cultures). It is subject to development and it is important that its implication in the subject depend on changing elements of the environment. The aim of the publication is to describe some knowledge management tools and an indication of how a proper use can provide a competitive advantage to the company. Characterized company is Thomas Reuters – leader in the media industry that conveys information or components of the knowledge base. This article is based on an analysis of literature studies and also presents a case study.
