Summary/Abstract: In Norway salmon farming has a large economic importance. These fish are farmed in closed cages, which are immersed in water – the sea 50 meters deep. The diameter of these cages is 157 meters. Each cage has the capacity to contain 300 tons of fish. This kind of economic importance is associated with the use of a number of different technological solutions. This technology is characterized by the advancement and fitting to the needs. The purpose of this article is to analyse technology associated with salmon farming.
