Summary/Abstract: The methodical approach of textbooks produced according to diverse school curricula to exercises based around equations and inequations and their influence on the development of logical and mathematical knowledge of primary school students from the first to the fifth primary grade is the focal point and the main thesis of this master's thesis. The nine-grade primary school was introduced in 2003 in schools that work according to both Croatian and Bosnian curriculum in The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, the juxtaposition of text books made according to the two mentioned curricula reveals significant discrepancies in the methodical approach to equations and inequation. The question is, how deep are these differences and how are they going to affect the level of the acquired knowledge at the end of the primary school? This research should reveal whether and in what measure the initial educational and methodical goals of both curricula are achieved.
