Summary/Abstract: The research explores studies of spectacle and ritual, dealing with the theoretical aspects that govern the relation established between them. About 2500 years ago, spectacle delimitated itself from ritual (defined as a religious or solemn ceremony) and managed to create a cultural self-identity. Functions, performers, audience entered a different construction and deconstruction process, inside which efficacy changed into entertainment.
