Summary/Abstract: Neagu Djuvara’s book is an anthology of significant quotations from his books published over time, quotes grouped into sections but illustrating the author’s singular destiny: three lives lived in three different geographical areas. Gheorghe Florescu’s book is a realistic picture of the socialist trade from the perspective of a worker of an import agency that enables access to scarce goods for the common people in the communist period. This job brought close links to outstanding people of the time, but also sent him to prison because the desire of the communist regime to find guilty persons (“scapegoats”) for the chronic shortages of food on the market on that time. Two books to be read carefully especially to be reflected upon the realities they present!!!
