Summary/Abstract: Organised crime is a dynamic phenomenon, which adapts to the social changes and the complexity of the risks arising from such changes, taking advantage of the slowness of the states’ mechanisms of adaptation of the legislation to the new social realities. The paper analyses the actions and measures to prevent and counteract organized crime in Romania, after the fall of the communist regime, both on a legislative level and on that of judicial structures, as well as the influence of international regulations on the national law.
