Summary/Abstract: The growing interest in LA issues in recent years is mainly due to the benefits that derive from developing a good knowledge about language and of how it works as an important part of language education. Particularly sensitive to the need to improve learning skills, LA approaches include a diversity of learner-focused methods, active learning techniques and metacognitive strategies. Planning classroom activities is equally important as teaching and providing assessment for learning which will eventually contribute to the learners’ engagement in the process of language and skill acquisition and to their acquiring confidence and independence. By getting insight from LA, not only do learners get critically involved in the four language skills, but they can also enrich their experience and knowledge regarding various issues of language and culture.
