Summary/Abstract: The Other for the Albanians was the neighbor, friend, guest, newcomer, enemy, and any member of another culture who had come to the countries where Albanians lived, for whatever purpose. Many of those Others have documented their physical presence in these places through writings and books. In these books they have expressed their attitude on Albanians, like the Others of Europe, along with many other peoples in the Balkans. The discovery and translation of some of these books is of particular interest to the Albanologist Robert Elsie, who has left us translations but also many such writings in original by authors, which he has found in archives and libraries. In his ranking is Fanny Janet Sandison Blunt, author of two books, one the political-cultural type in two volumes, and the other of reminiscence type. In both of her works, Albanians are present and characterized by all their ethno-cultural features. The peculiarity of these books is that they are not translated into Albanian and are little known, even in academic publications in foreign languages. In this paper, quoting from Blunt's writings, we will see how she saw Albanians, in her time.
