The Patriarch-Tradition Marriage in Bulgaria and Its Stability

Summary/Abstract: After first explaining what is to be understood as "traditional family", this article marks the basic characteristics and mechanisms of the functioning of the rural family in Bulgaria at the end of the XIX and the beginning of the XX century. It is considered as a typical example of a patriarchal-tradititonal family in our country. The inference is made that in the patriarchal-traditional society the marriage is usually distinguished by low quality, where the high level of stability is united to a low success.
