SOME REMARKS ON THE BASIC VALUE OF A WORD AND ITS PRESENT MEANING

Summary/Abstract: The author considers the problem of the present meaning of a word which is being realized in a concrete act of linguistic communication. The author says that the dictionaries of the literary language give most of all the basic meaning and some different shades of this meaning, and the lexical materials taken from various sources indicate that one should reach more boldly in lexicographic practice to the present meaning and define it.
