Summary/Abstract: The present paper presents the results of a social anthropology study conducted in a distinctive community located between two major historical regions of Romania. The investigated population is represented by high school students. The purpose of the study is to highlight the specific features of the local community and its identity, respectively the image of the individual in the local collective mind. From a methodological point of view, we used quantitative methods. The results highlight the local community specificity and traditions, as well as how the locals perceive themselves, and the conclusions may constitute premises for the further development of the community, to the extent that students will not leave the community
