Summary/Abstract: Well-known agronomist engineer, academician Marcu Botzan (born March 30, 1913, Craiova – deceased March 8, 2011, Bucharest) had developed a laborious research activity in profile institutions, between 1936 and 1973, as a manager of Research Institute for Land Developments and Pediology, respectively as deputy manager of Land Developments Institute. He was preoccupied for the organization of experimental fields in order to research the irrigation regime and water consumption, the water distribution technique, the hydrotechnical constructions behavior, the drainage technique and damming and the dammed and drained precincts behavior, he developed models for types of water from soil evaluations and he conducted doctor’s degrees in land developments. Marcu Botzan approached multi-disciplinary the problems of Romania’s waters, his work includes over 130 original works.
