Summary/Abstract: Igor Sienkiewicz was born in Bessarabia, at Tighina in 15/28 December 1907, in an intellectual Polish family. Next, he studied at the Russian school in Kishinev, graduating it in 1928, but the Romanian authorities did not recognize the diploma. So, he went to France, at Toulouse where in 1931 he became an agricultural engineer, but returned to Tighina his license was not recognized. So, he had to resume his studies at the Science Faculty of Agriculture from Jassy, based in Kishinev, finally geting the right to practice in 1938. In 1949–1956 he dealt with the pest control, as an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture, and from 1956 he worked at the Antipa Museum. He studied Heteroptera, bringing important scientific contributions, publishing countless papers. Arriving Lublin in 1964, he obtained a passport for Poland, where he got a degree of PhD Entomology in 1965. Being established for good in Montreal, he worked as a French professor at the College of St. Jean de Richelieu. Countless were his hardships, but he never gave up of his passion for Entomology. The present paper is mainly based on the moving testimony of dr. Igor Sienkiewicz, assigned to the authors.
