Summary/Abstract: Used in all its parts and functions, the human body represents a rich ground for the expression of the world as it is the first tool whereby man starts to know himself as well as the objects around him. In this respect, the present paper studies the role of the human body as a mediator between external world realities and representations by means of a case study, namely an analogy with the human digestive tract.
