INTERNAL REGION N° 1 FOR "STREINI EST" IN ATTENTION GENDARMERIE

Summary/Abstract: The regions of internment for foreigners created in 1940, a very little researched theme that gives the possibility to carry out a study that brings additions to the activity of the Gendarmerie. The work is in fact a fruit of the identification and research of archival documents within the fund of the General Inspectorate of the Gendarmerie of 1940 by the Central National Historical Archives. Internal Region No. 1 for „Streini Est" in Brătuia-Rășina-Icleni Region, Gorj County. The region consisted of the following localities: Merfuleşti, Lazu, Trocani, Brătuia, Tărculești, Răsina, Şicleni, Tunşi and was one of the security objectives of the gendarmes in 1940. The organisation of the guard was done by sectors through fixed control and surveillance posts and mobile patrols. At each station he was assigned his seat, and mobile patrols were set up patrol itineraries.
